Our GEMBA Class XI just finished their last Shanghai session, at the famous Xuhui campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. We held a pre-graduation celebration dinner for them on 1 November, and a pre-graduation ceremony on campus on 2 November.

The 2015 USC Global Conference drew to a close in Shanghai tonight with the Gala Dinner in the Grand Ballroom at the Grand Hyatt Shanghai. President C. L. Max Nikias honored USC Trustee Ming Hsieh for his role as co-chair of the event and for his overall contribution to the university.

On the 19th, the USC-SJTU Global Executive MBA program held another GEMBA Forum, our regular seminar on mainland Chinese businesses going global. This week’s Forum theme was “Business Strategy in the Internet + Era”. More than 150 guests attended.
From 17 to 21 August, the USC-SJTU Global EMBA (GEMBA) Class XI had a value-packed, week-long visit to Singapore and Vietnam, a component of the GEMBA program we call Global Front-Line Perspectives.

8 Aug. 2015, we hosted a brand new GEMBA Connect in Shanghai. This event gathered GEMBA I alumni after 10 years of their graduation, plus a number of others, and we had three GEMBA I classmates as speakers about their various industries: Rosemary Gong, Joy Sun and Henry Shen.

We are living an era of “Internet+” and China is now experiencing a new, unusually volatile era of its stock market. Hundsun Technology Inc., a leader in finance software and network services, is accordingly attracting more and more attention these days. On 17 July, a group of GEMBA alumni visited Hundsun, in Hangzhou, east China, the second of our GEMBA Exploring China series.
The USC-SJTU Global EMBA Program in Shanghai (GEMBA) Class XII just finished their second module, in Los Angeles. Students flew to L.A. from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea, Thailand and elsewhere for the eight-day study session, featuring the beautiful USC campus and California sunshine.

On 16 June 2015, as the summer hit Tokyo, our Japan-based GEMBAs and friends gathered in Tokyo’s Akasaka area. Also among the attendees (from seven GEMBA classes were a visitor from California who has business in Tokyo, while we also had leaders from Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, McCann, Tesla, Sanofi and Softbank, and also the president of the USC Tokyo alumni association.

On 22 May 2015, a group of eight GEMBAs departed Shanghai to explore Huangshan, the first stop of the GEMBA alumni activity series, “GEMBA Exploring China”.
