Orientation for Newest GEMBA Class – Class XIII – Beginning their Transformative Journey

On 16 April 2016, the USC-SJTU Global EMBA (GEMBA) welcomed our new class, GEMBA Class XIII, at the Longemont Hotel, Shanghai. The Orientation is a launching pad for our new students as they begin their 20-month GEMBA journey. While the journey is challenging and time-intensive, it fosters boundless opportunities and new paths toward success.
After the orientation, our new GEMBA XIIIs joined their first-ever GEMBA Connect, a regularly-scheduled platform that helps GEMBAs to meet alumni and students from other classes, and to learn something valuable about current business in China and broader Asia. On the 16th, we invited four alumni to share their experiences in transforming from being business leaders in MNCs to becoming entrepreneurs. Ms. Huifang Schulenburg (GEMBA XI) was the host of the seminar. Guest speakers including: Derek Wong (GEMBA VIII), who has just launched KDL, a healthcare-sector venture, TJ Green (GEMBA VIII), Chairman / CEO of Apex Entertainment, and Jerry Zhou (GEMBA X), CEO and President, Swift You Supply Chain Management.
