Prof. Margot SchumacherProfessor, Leadership Development
Margot Schumacher is a professor in leadership development and an experienced executive coach, helping senior leaders to grow professionally and personally in an international environment. She has a strong passion for people, leadership and organizational development. Clients call her authentic, and her global experience provides her a deep understanding of different cultural backgrounds and cross-cultural challenges.
With many years of experience in the food industry, she has a sound business background. Margot started her career as a consultant and has since then held leadership positions in different multinationals (Unilever and Heinz). She worked in senior, regional and global supply chain and change management roles, before moving into executive coaching full time several years ago. She has been based in Shanghai (China), Pittsburgh (USA), London (UK) and in the Netherlands.
Multinationals, senior executives and directors are her clients, both expats working in Asia and beyond and Asians working for multinationals. Furthermore, Margot teaches and coaches at business schools globally. She is an Adjunct Professor of Leadership Development for the University of Southern California (USC)’s Marshall School of Business, and she is an executive coach for INSEAD Asia, Europe and Middle East and Tsinghua University in Beijing.
Margot holds a master’s in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from the Eindhoven University of Technology, and she is an Executive MBA graduate from USC. Furthermore she graduated cum laude in clinical organizational psychology from INSEAD’s Executive Masters in Coaching & Consulting for Change program. Through the years she attended several coaching related certification programs.
Margot, a native of the Netherlands, is married and lives with three children in Shanghai, China.
